Josh Hawley voted to block the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/senate-bill\/4445\">Right to IVF Act<\/a> for the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/senate-bill\/4445\/all-actions?overview=closed&amp;q=%7B%22roll-call-vote%22%3A%22all%22%7D\">second time<\/a> this year. This crucial legislation would have protected access to in vitro fertilization (IVF) and reduce the financial burden on families seeking treatment.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Liz McCune, Progress Missouri Executive Director, said the following:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\"><p>\u200b\u201cFor the second time this year, Senator Hawley voted to block the Right to IVF Act, turning his back on Missouri families needing IVF treatments. This critical legislation would have protected the right to IVF while reducing its financial burden by requiring insurance companies to cover the procedure.<\/p><p>\u200b\u201cJosh Hawley likes to talk about being pro-family, but his actions\u2014opposing both the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.congress.gov\/bill\/118th-congress\/senate-bill\/4445\">Right to IVF Act<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.senate.gov\/legislative\/LIS\/roll_call_votes\/vote1182\/vote_118_2_00190.htm\">Right to Contraception Act<\/a>\u2014show he cares more about advancing his extremist agenda than protecting Missouri families.<\/p><p>\u201cIf that weren\u2019t bad enough, <a href=\"https:\/\/mbcpathway.com\/2024\/09\/09\/cultural-impact-conference-calls-churches-to-stand-for-freedom-life-of-unborn\/\">Senator Hawley called Amendment 3<\/a>, the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.stltoday.com\/news\/local\/government-politics\/abortion-rights-republicans-leading-in-latest-slu-poll-of-missouri-voters\/article_6724e706-6481-11ef-9e41-bba29c6def91.html\">popular measure <\/a>that would restore Missourians\u2019 reproductive rights, the \u2018most radical attempt to destroy the family in Missouri\u2019s history.\u2019 Hawley\u2019s extreme agenda is not just wrong\u2014it\u2019s a direct threat to the personal freedoms that the people of Missouri overwhelmingly want to protect.
