LOUIS, Mo. \u2013 Voters last week selected extreme conservative David Gregory as the Republican candidate for Senate District 15. Gregory, who failed in his bid for state auditor in 2022, has said that he feels Missouri\u2019s total abortion ban doesn\u2019t go far enough.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Here are 3 things to know about David Gregory:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" type=\"1\"><li><strong>Gregory doesn\u2019t think Missouri\u2019s abortion ban goes far enough.<\/strong> Although Missouri has what is considered to be one of the most sweeping abortion bans in the nation, Gregory <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.kfvs12.com\/video\/2022\/06\/25\/mo-state-rep-gregory-explains-new-abortion-ban\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">told a KFVS reporter <\/a><\/strong>the draconian law doesn\u2019t go far enough, saying that legislators would be taking steps to prevent women from crossing state borders to get abortions, a tremendous seizure of personal freedom.<br \/><br \/><em>\u201cIf you\u2019re a Missouri resident no matter where you get it, can we have that arms-length reach? Can we do something about it either civilly or criminally?\u00a0 I don\u2019t know the constitutionality of that. It may be constitutional; it may not be. I\u2019m not sure. But I do know in Missouri certainly they\u2019ll be taking steps to find out and steps to find out what they can to prevent that.\u201d<\/em><br \/><br \/>He further states that the federal government can offer strings-attached money that would only be available to states that deny Missourians abortions.<br \/><\/li><li><strong>Gregory believes families with several children shouldn\u2019t have to pay income taxes.<\/strong> On his website, Gregory has boasted about his \u201cpro-life plan\u201d that includes incentivizing families with at least three children by releasing them from paying income taxes.\u00a0<br \/><\/li><li><strong>Gregory voted for Missouri\u2019s abortion ban trigger law.<\/strong> As a state representative, Gregory voted \u201cyes\u201d on<a href=\"https:\/\/house.mo.gov\/Bill.aspx?bill=HB126&amp;year=2019&amp;code=R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"> HB 126<\/a>, the bill that established Missouri\u2019s extreme abortion ban.
