CHARLES, Mo. \u2013 Voters Tuesday selected Missouri State Representative Adam Schnelting as the Republican candidate for Senate District 23. However, if you dig into his record, from his boasting about being an architect of Missouri\u2019s extreme abortion ban to leaving everyday Missourians behind by voting against lowering prescription drug prices and expanding childcare access, it\u2019s clear Schelting is the wrong choice for Missouri.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Here are 5 things to know about Adam Schnelting:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Schnelting boasts he \u201cauthored\u201d Missouri\u2019s abortion ban.<\/strong> On <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/adamformo\/videos\/1425033024833184\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">social media<\/a> and in\u00a0campaign ads, Schelting frequently describes himself as the author of the abortion ban currently in place in Missouri. As a State Representative, Schnelting voted \u201cyes\u201d on <a href=\"https:\/\/house.mo.gov\/Bill.aspx?bill=HB126&amp;year=2019&amp;code=R\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">HB 126<\/a>, the bill that established Missouri\u2019s extreme abortion ban. However, Schnelting was not the sponsor nor a co-sponsor of the bill.<br \/><\/li><li><strong>Schnelting attempted to stifle the will of voters.<\/strong> Schnelting was actively trying to keep Missourians from being able to vote on abortion by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/watch\/?v=983819253160555\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">encouraging voters not to sign<\/a> the initiative petition that was being circulated.<br \/><\/li><li><strong>Schnelting is a proud member of the MAGA-aligned Freedom Caucus.<\/strong> Schnelting received the Missouri Freedom Caucus <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/MOFreedomCaucus\/status\/1818494307331879151\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">endorsement<\/a>, and consistently voted alongside other members of the Caucus.<br \/><\/li><li><strong>Schnelting opposed lowering the cost of medication.<\/strong> Schnelting <a href=\"https:\/\/house.mo.gov\/billtracking\/bills241\/jrnpdf\/jrn077.pdf#page=3\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">voted against SB 751<\/a> which would lower the cost of 340B prescription drug prices.
