On every level of education, Missouri schools are chronically underfunded, and it\u2019s kids who suffer most.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/progressmo.com\/missouri-falling-behind\/\"><strong>Missouri is 49 in the country for state funding of K-12 public schools<\/strong>.<\/a> This has pushed 30% of the schools in the state into four-day school weeks \u2013 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cbsnews.com\/news\/school-districts-4-day-week-teachers-parents\/\">which education experts say they don\u2019t know the long term effects of.<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>And for both younger and older kids, Missouri isn\u2019t doing any better: Missouri is the fourth worst in the country on early childhood education quality and 46 in the country for state investment in higher education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Missouri Is Bottom Four In The Country On Child\u2019s Rights<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/progressmo.com\/missouri-falling-behind\/\"><strong>Missouri was one of four states this year to receive an F on child\u2019s rights and show no signs of improvement.<\/strong><\/a> The report, conducted by Human Rights Watch, examined Missouri\u2019s policies on corporal punishment in schools, child marriage, child labor and juvenile prison sentencing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Remember how a <a href=\"https:\/\/fox2now.com\/news\/missouri\/missouri-lawmaker-defends-12-year-olds-getting-married\/\">Missouri representative said child marriage was a good thing<\/a>?
