Big Pharma: companies like Bristol-Myers Squibb, Eli Lilly and Merck, who make several billion dollars a year by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.americanprogress.org\/article\/5-facts-to-know-about-medicare-drug-price-negotiation\/#:~:text=The%20first%20round%20of%20drug,and%20face%20significant%20health%20disparities.\">charging seniors up to $130,000 a year<\/a> for essential medications.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Josh Hawley doesn\u2019t understand that $130,000 is too much for most Missouri seniors to pay. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/nation\/2021\/05\/11\/senator-josh-hawley\/\">He\u2019s the son of a bank president and was educated at some of the most expensive schools in the country.<\/a> But <a href=\"https:\/\/meric.mo.gov\/data\/county-average-wages\">the average Missourian makes only $60,000 a year<\/a>.
